When leaving the vehicle, always take
#
the SmartKey with you and lock the
vehicle.
If the easy entry and exit feature is active, the
steering wheel will move upwards and the driv‐
er's seat will move back in the following situa‐
tions:
You switch the ignition off with the driver's
R
door open
You open the driver's door with the ignition
R
switched off

The steering wheel will move upwards only if
it is not already as high as it will go. The driv‐
er's seat will move backwards only if it is not
already in the rearmost position.
The steering wheel and the driver's seat will
move back to the last drive position in the fol‐
lowing cases:
You switch the power supply or the ignition
R
on when the driver's door is closed
You close the driver's door with the ignition
R
switched on.
The last drive position will be stored when:
You switch the ignition off.
R
Vehicles with memory function: You call
R
up the seat settings via the memory function.
Vehicles with memory function: You save
R
the seat settings via the memory function.
Vehicles with memory function: Press one of
the memory function saved position buttons to
stop the adjustment process.

Operating the memory function

& WARNING Risk of an accident if the
memory function is used while driving
If you use the memory function on the driv‐
er's side while driving, you could lose control
of the vehicle as a result of the adjustments
being made.
Only use the memory function on the
#
driver's side when the vehicle is station‐
ary.
Seats and stowing 105
& WARNING Risk of entrapment when set‐
ting the seat with the memory function
When the memory function adjusts the seat
or steering wheel, you and other vehicle
occupants – particularly children – could
become trapped.
During the setting procedure of the
#
memory function, ensure that no body
parts are in the sweep of the seat or
the steering wheel.
If somebody becomes trapped, immedi‐
#
ately release the memory function posi‐
tion button.
The adjustment process is stopped.
& WARNING Risk of entrapment if the
memory function is activated by children
Children could become trapped if they acti‐
vate the memory function, particularly when
unattended.
Never leave children unattended in the
#
vehicle.
