Problem
Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) comes
on.
Possible Cause
1. The engine is too hot.
2. There is old gas in the gas tank.
3. The fuel-shutoff valve is not open
completely.
4. The ir cleaner is dirty.
5. The battery is not charged.
6. The fuel filters are incorrect or dirty.
7. Connections to sensors electronic
control unit (ECU) and fuel injectors
are not secured properly.
8. The battery voltage is low.
9. The fuse is blown.

Corrective Action
1. Turn the engine off and let it cool.
2. Use new gas.
3. Open the fuel-shutoff valve.
4. Make sure that the air cleaner and
precleaner are clean. Replace if
necessary.
5. Charge or replace the battery.
6. Contact an Authorized Service Dealer.
7. Contact an Authorized Service Dealer.
8. Ensure a good 12 V battery is being
used and is fully charged.
9. Check and replace any blown fuses.
