4.1.1 Liquid Crystal Display The Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) used in the Hirschmann ECS PRS 80 console is a wide temperature- range graphic display with transflective characteristics that give it a high visibility in sunlight and during backlit night operation. Due to the nature of any LCD, it works on the principle of polarization of light. It should be noted that dual polarizations that are at a certain angle to each other can reduce the amount of light up to completely eliminating it if that angle becomes perpendicular.
