m WARNING! To prevent accidental injuries:
l Never place a hand or any other part of the body in fastener discharge area of tool.
l Never point tool at yourself or anyone whether it contains fasteners or not.
l Never engage in horseplay.
l Never pull the trigger unless the nose is directed towards the work.
l Always handle the tool with care.
l Do not pull the trigger or depress the trip mechanism press the foot pedal whilst loading the tool.
l This tool is intended to be used for stapling cardboard cartons and similar material. DO NOT USE for
fastening harder materials which could cause buckling of the staples and damage to the tool.
l To prevent accidental actuation and possible injury, always disconnect power supply, take extra care:
1. When loading the tool. 2. Before making adjustments. 3. When servicing the tool. 4. When clearing a jam.
5. When tool is not in use. 5. When moving to a different work area, as accidental actuation may occur,
possibly causing injury.
l Read the additional Safety & Operating instructions booklet before using tool.
l The operation of this tool can cause sparks and act as a source of ignition for flammable fuels and gases.
l When manually feeding the staples into the head DO NOT grip the edges of the staple belt. Place finger tips
on the centre of the belt and push forwards to feed.
l Never operate the machine without board above the clincher as damage may result to the driver and door
assembly.
l Make sure the set screw in the clincher holder is facing forwards so that it may be tightened against the
flat on the clincher post. Never tighten the set screw against the threads on the clincher post as damage
may be done to the threads resulting in jamming the clincher holder during adjustment.
l Do not oil excessively as spotting may occur on the workpiece.
l Ensure that the feet are attached securely and that the machine is installed on a flat and level surface
before operating.
Loading (FS32C, FS35A, FSSW)
1. Pull pusher backwards until it stops on the pusher pivots, then rotate pusher into position (Fig. 1).
2. Insert 4 sticks of staples into the magazine from the back. Let the staples slide forwards to the front of the
magazine (Fig. 2).
3. Pull pusher back to the upright position and gently let the pusher slide forward against the staples (Fig. 3).
Loading (FSAR/FSSWC)
1. Lift the staple cassette spindle upwards, off the vertical posts (Fig. 4).
2. Slide the staple roll on to the spindle (Fig. 5).
3. Lower the staple cassette spindle back into position onto the vertical posts (Fig. 6).
4. Unroll the staples from the bottom of the roll and begin guiding them towards the mouth of the conveyor (Fig. 7).
5. Keep sliding the staples along the magazine until they are engaged by the magazine feed (Fig. 8).
Jam Clearance
1. Loosen the bolts shown in Fig 9, then squeeze the levers together on the cover plate, until you feel the latch
disengage (Fig. 9).
2. Pull the cover plate away from the tool and clear the jam (Fig. 10).
3. Replace the cover plate and tighten bolts (Fig. 11).
Fastener Adjustment (FSSW only)
The FSSW requires adjustment to use SW7437 or SW9040 staples as follows:
1. Remove the four screws that hold plate 016 in place (Fig 12 and 13)
2. If using SW7437 staples configure the plate (016) is fitted as shown in Fig 12. If using SW9040 staples
configure the plate (016) is fitted as shown in Fig 13. The name of the required fastener family should be
diaplyed.
3. Refit the plate by refitting the four screws.
