Note:
After you have powered on both the system and the graphic terminal connected to the SVGA port, it may take
several seconds before something is displayed on the screen. You have a problem only if nothing displays after at
least few minutes.

Setting Up the System
Possible Cause
The CPU drawer power cord is not
connected to a PDU outlet or is not
properly connected.
The PDU power cord is not
connected to an AC outlet or is not
properly connected.
The AC outlet is faulty.
The AC source is missing.
The monitor power switch is not set
to the ON position.
The power cord is not connected to
an AC outlet.
The power cord is not properly
connected.
The AC outlet is faulty.
The monitor contrast and/or
brightness knobs are set too low.
The computer system is not
powered on.
The monitor video cable is not
properly connected to the dedicated
port.
The video cable is not connected to
the proper port.
The mouse driver has not been
loaded.
The wrong mouse driver is loaded.
The mouse needs to be cleaned.
You are not using the mouse with
the proper monitor.
The contacts are dirty.
Solution
Properly connect the power cord to the CPU
drawer and to a PDU outlet.
Properly connect the power cord to the PDU
and to the AC outlet.
Try another AC outlet.
Call your electrician to check the AC source.
Set the switch to the ON (I) position.
Connect the power cord to a working AC
outlet.
Properly connect the power cord to the
monitor and to the AC outlet.
Try another AC outlet.
Adjust the contrast and/or brightness knobs
until you can see the display.
Power on the system.
Properly connect the video cable to the
dedicated port.
Check that video cable is connected to:
- The SVGA port for a graphic monitor
- A serial port for any ASCII terminal.
Load the mouse driver.
Remove the conflicting mouse driver and
install the correct one.
Remove the tracking ball and clean it with a
damp cloth. Clean the contacts with a
component cleaning spray.
Use the mouse with the system graphic
monitor.
Clean the contacts with a component cleaning
spray.
