Charging the battery
Before the appliance is used for the first time, it should be charged for 2 hours. It then takes 1
hour to fully recharge the battery again.
Connect the plug-in transformer to the appliance socket, and then to the mains socket.
The appliance can also be charged via the charging stand. Connect the plug-in transformer to
the charging stand's socket. Place the appliance in the charging stand so that charging
contact is made.
During charging, the charging indicator is illuminated. The charging indicator will begin to blink
when almost fully charged and may shut off when fully charged.
Note: If the appliance is fully charged and is placed in the stand to charge, the charging
indicator may not turn on. This does not indicate the appliance can no longer charge, it means
the appliance does not need to draw electricity because it is already fully charged.
Mains operation
Connect the plug-in transformer to the appliance socket (Fig. 2).Connect the plug-in
transformer to the mains socket.
Switch on the appliance using the on/off switch (Fig. 1a) and, after use, switch it off again (Fig. 1b).
Cleaning and care
Oil the blade set (Fig. 3).
Do not immerse the appliance in water!
After each use, use the cleaning brush to remove cut hairs from the housing opening and
from the blade set (Fig. 5). Remove the blade set to do this (Fig. 4a).
The charging contacts on the appliance and on the charging stand should always be kept clean.
Only wipe the appliance with a soft cloth, which may be dampened slightly. Never use
solvents or scouring agents!
The blade set can be cleaned with hygienic spray order no. 4005-7051.
For a long-lasting, good cutting performance, it is important to oil the blade set frequently (Fig.
3). Only use blade set oil order no. 0230-1070 (118 ml) or no. 3310-230 (4oz.). Blade set oil
and hygienic spray is available from your dealer or our Service Centre.
If the cutting performance deteriorates after long use despite regular cleaning and oiling, the
blade set should be replaced.
Use the blade guard when the appliance is not in use.
Always store the appliance with the blade guard in place.
Changing the blade set
Switch off the appliance using the on/off switch (Fig. 1b).
The blade set can be removed by sliding it away from the housing in the direction of the arrow
(Fig. 4a).
To replace the blade set, position it with the hook in the opening of the housing and press it
onto the housing until it clicks into position (Fig. 4b).
This marking indicates that this product should not be disposed with other household
wastes throughout the EU. To prevent possible harm to the environment or human
health from uncontrolled waste disposal, recycle it responsibly to promote the sustainable
reuse of material resources. To return your used device, please use the return and collection
