1. Empty switch module slot
2. Switch module in insert position
3. With the release lever in the locked position, slide the switch module into the blade server chassis
slot completely until the switch module is seated properly.
A click sound locks the switch module in the blade server chassis I/O module bay. Locking the switch
module in the I/O module bay provides power (if the power is on in the blade server chassis) and
activates (powers on) the switch module and the LEDs. The switch module then runs self-diagnostic
tests such as POST.
4. Ensure that the two fan modules work normally.
5. Connect the cables for the SFP+ transceivers that are pre-installed on ports 33 and 34
before inserting more SFP+ transceivers.
You are now ready to insert the SFP+ optical transceivers. Be sure to use only Brocade-branded
SFP+ optical transceivers. Unapproved products will not be recognized.
It is recommended that you review the installation precautions and guidelines when handling
SFP+ optical transceivers and cables before you insert the transceivers and attach the cables.
