Oil cooler dirty.
Relief valve improperly adjusted.
Incorrect hydraulic oil viscosity.
Excessive load.
Pump not receiving hydraulic oil.
Damaged line.
External leak in system.
Air in hydraulic oil.
Contamination in hydraulic oil.
Hydraulic oil viscosity too high.
Low hydraulic oil supply.
Obstruction in line or line damaged.

Fill hydraulic reservoir with proper
oil.
Check for foamy oil. Tighten
connections, replace o-rings or
lines.
Replace filters and hydraulic oil. Fill
hydraulic reservoir to proper level.
Inspect and clean cooler fins.
Adjust to specifications.
Replace oil with proper viscosity.
Reduce load.
Any or all of the following:
- Replace dirty filters.
- Clogged inlet line.
- Clean reservoir breather
vent.
- Fill reservoir to proper level.
- Open suction valves.
Replace line.
Tighten connections and bleed air
from system.
Tighten connections, fill reservoir to
proper level, and bleed air from
system.
Replace dirty filter and system
hydraulic oil.
Hydraulic oil may be too cold or
should be replaced with proper
viscosity.
Fill hydraulic reservoir with proper
hydraulic oil.
Inspect lines. Replace parts if
necessary.
