Controlling and checking the unit status
The Tools tab of the NK823x unit provides some control commands and a screen
status report of the unit. It allows for:
Commanding a remote reset of the unit (that will disconnect the unit for about
one minute).
Setting date & time in the unit.
Executing ping and traceroute commands.
Reading a complete status report, which includes:

Hardware version, e.g. NKM8001-A2.

Firmware version (available on the PC and actually installed on the unit).

Product Identifier (ID): NK8237.
–
Delivery Date & Time.
–
Add-on information: list of installed add-on components.
–
Hardware configuration: 2 serial ports.
–
Free RAM available (bytes).
–
Kernel Version: Linux version and release date.
–
Factory Burning Date (when the product burned-in).
–
EEprom information: event logging and counters.
–
Log Status: active, inactive, active after on-the-fly configuration changes
have been set (by NW8204 tool).
–
Firewall Status: enabled, disabled.
–
Routing Status: enabled, disabled.
