The software installation includes the following:
Composer and basic tools for system configuration.
Additional tools: NW8202 (for IP configuration download), NW8204 (for
maintenance and diagnostic), NK823x Web Server (for NK8237 diagnostic
information and IP configuration).

Installation checklist
1. Install the Composer Software.
If necessary, you can refer to the following documentation:
Composer Technical Manual
2. To configure the IP address of the unit, you can use the NK823x Web Server
[➙ 25] (that is pre-installed on the SD card of the new NK8237 units or can be
installed during the update of the kernel) or install the NW8202 tool [➙ 26].
3. If required for diagnostics, install the NW8204 tool [➙ 27].

Composer tool

Composer tool can be installed using the standard DMS8000 DVD.
To commission an NK8237 for firewall application, you can choose the Composer
GW Tool (NK8237) installation option, which is a light version of Composer with
only the functionalities required for commissioning. The Composer GW Tool
version needs no license.

Launching Composer

Do one of the following:

Launch Composer through the Start menu: Start > Programs > DMS8000 >
Composer.
-
Launch Composer by selecting the shortcut icon
available.
When you start Composer for the first time, the following window displays:
Composer server selection
Note: To see this window every time you start Composer, deselect the Hide this
dialog check box.
