SAFETY FEATURES

18
The fan-heater is fitted with an overheating safety device. If the fan-
heater becomes too hot on the inside, it will automatically cut out. If this
happens, you have to switch off the fan-heater off immediately and
remove the plug from the power socket. Allow the fan-heater
approximately ten minutes to cool down. The EK9002 and EK15002
require resetting now by inserting a pen into the small reset hole on the
operating panel. After this (and for all other types) put the plug back into
the power socket and start the fan-heater in the normal way.
There is usually a reason for the fan-heater overheating. Check to see
whether the fan-heater is sufficiently able to discharge its heat: is the fan-
heater covered, is it positioned too close to a wall or other obstacle? Are
the grills on the front and back of the fan-heater unobstructed, or is the
fan jammed in some way? Remedy the problem yourself, if possible, or
take it to your electrical dealer. Also, if you cannot find any cause, but the
fan-heater overheats for a second time, you should take it in for checking
and/or repair. Overheating can cause serious danger (of fire)!

CLEANING AND CARE

The fan-heater requires a minimum of maintenance. The internal parts
may become dusty, so vacuum out the fan-heater regularly using a
powerful vacuum cleaner, or blow the internal parts clean with a
compressor. Do not remove any grills, but either vacuum or blow through
them.
You can clean the outside of the fan-heater with a damp cloth. Do not
use any corrosive cleaning products and never use methylated spirits or
other solvents when cleaning the heater!
Before carrying out any cleaning or care, always remember to switch the
fan-heater off and remove the plug from the power socket.
If you intend putting the fan-heater away for long periods, put it back in
its original packaging and store it in a dry, dust-free place.
