HOW THE LIGHT WORKS
The light comes with rechargeable batteries. During the day the solar panel converts
sunlight into electricity, which charges the batteries. This energy is used at night, with
the light coming on automatically. The length of time that the light comes on for depends
on the geographical location, the weather and the time of year. The batteries should be
replaced when the charging capacity starts to diminish.
CHOOSE BETWEEN SOLAR POWER/ LOW VOLTAGE POWER
The lamp post can be powered by solar power or by using the transformer that is inclu-
ded. During the summer, you can use solar power to charge the light. The lamp post will
come on and stay on for 6-8 hours when the power switch is turned on. During the winter
when there is less light during the day, it can be difficult go get enough energy from the
sun to charge the batteries. This is when you can use the transformer instead. When the
power switch is turned on, the lamp post will come on when it gets dark and will stay on
until it gets light.
WHERE TO PUT YOUR LAMP POST
Choose a location that is outdoors and that receives direct sunlight for at least 8 hours
per day. If you place the light in the shade, the battery will not be charged enough, so the
light will come on for a shorter amount of time. You should not place the light next to any
strong light sources, such as street lighting. If you do, it may cause the light to switch off
automatically, as the sensor in the light will sense the other light source.
