As the signal passes from point A to point B (the most remote points), it loses intensity in the fiber
optic cable, and in each connection between the individual OADMs, the OMUX-8, and the
transceivers. The number of OADMs that can be supported is based on the loss budget
calculations.
The following table shows typical loss values used to calculate the transmission distance for the hub
and spoke network.
