Safety guidelines

ATTENTION! Avoid contact with hot and/or mobile elements of the engine. Protects the tester from getting entangled
among the mobile elements of the engine.
Even in the case the guidelines indicated in the instruction manual are strictly adhered to, it is not possible to completely
eliminate residual risk. The device must be operated with due care. If you are not completely assured of the correctness or
safety of the executed actions, do not proceed to realise them.
The place of work must be suffi ciently illuminated and clean. Disorder and poor lighting may lead to accidents.
Use individual protection measures. Always wear safety goggles. Wear protective clothes. Do not wear loose clothes and
jewellery. Keep the hair, clothes and gloves away from the mobile elements of the electric tool. Loose clothes, jewellery or long
hair may get entangled in the mobile elements of the engine.
Store the tool away from reach of children. Do not allow people who have not been trained in operation of the device to work
with it. Ensure a safe distance between the workplace and unauthorised people.
Using inadequate equipment may constitute a source of danger.
Before each work make sure no elements are missing or damaged. It is prohibited to take up work in case any damage has
been detected.
Preparation for work
Make sure the starter and accumulator are in good working order; make sure the accumulator is fully charged.
The set is equipped with adapters which are screwed in instead of injectors and heater plugs. In accordance with the table,
select the adequate sizes of adapters for the given model of engine.
Work with the device
Allow the engine to reach its normal working temperature.
Stop the engine and dismantle all the heater plugs or injectors. The dismantling must be realised in accordance with the
guidelines indicated in the operating manual of the engine.
The adapter of the compression pressure gauge must be securely screwed in instead of the dismantled injector or the heater
plug. Make sure the size of the selected adapter is correct. Connect the compression pressure gauge to the adapter using a
camlock coupling.
Disconnect the fuel pump supply.
With the throttling valve fully open, allow the engine to make 6 - 8 complete rotations, using the starter. The compression
pressure gauge will automatically register the highest value of the compression pressure.
Release the pressure pushing the release valve button. Disconnect the gauge and the adapter, and then repeat the whole
procedure for the next cylinder.

Maintenance

The gauge and the adapters must be kept clean. Make sure the threads of the adapters are clean. If necessary, clean them
with a wire brush.
