Figure 1: Line separator FDCL221
The line separator FDCL221 is an electronic switch which is mounted on a
FDnet/C-NET detector line.
The line separator detects short-circuits and open lines on the detector line and
disconnects the negative conductor in the event of a short-circuit. The area of the
detector line unaffected by the short-circuit can continue to be operated.
The line separator FDCL221 has 2x 2 screw terminals for the FDnet/C-NET.
The status of the line separator is indicated by a yellow LED. The LED flashes
under the following conditions:
Line separator is open after detecting a short-circuit or an open line
Line separator is in localization mode
Properties
Compatible with fire detection system FS20/FS720 and FC360
Communication via the detector line
Individual addressing of line separators for easy location identification
Safeguards the FDnet/C-NET against short-circuits when sub-stubs are
connected
Status indicator (LED) for the line separator
Different types of mounting
Maintenance-free
Applications
If multiple sub-stubs are to be connected to a single point on the FDnet/C-NET
detector line, either another FDnet/C-NET device or a line separator FDCL221
must be mounted between the sub-stubs.
Modernization of collective detector lines on the addressed FDnet/C-NET
system.
You will find information on permissible topologies in fire detection systems
FS20/FS720 in the 008843 (for 'Sinteso') and A6V10210362 (for 'Cerberus PRO')
documents in the 'Line separation function' chapter.
You will find this information for the fire detection system FC360 in document
A6V10421795.
