INTRODUCTION
This tool is intended for lengthways and crossways
G
cutting of wood with straight cuts as well as angle cuts to
45°; with the appropriate saw blades also non-ferrous
metals, light building materials and plastics can be cut

SAFETY
Read and save this instruction manual and the

Avoid damage that can be caused by screws, nails and
G
other elements in your workpiece; remove them before
you start cutting
Always keep the cord away from moving parts of the tool
G
When you put away the tool, switch off the motor and
G
ensure that all moving parts have come to a complete
standstill
Use completely unrolled and safe extension cords with a
G
capacity of 16 Amps (U.K. 13 Amps)
In case of jamming or electrical or mechanical malfunction,
G
immediately switch off the tool and disconnect the plug
SKIL can assure flawless functioning of the tool only
G
when original accessories are used
Before using accessories always compare the maximum
G
allowed speed of that specific accessory with the speed
of the tool
Never use the tool without the original protection guard
G
system
This tool should not be used by people under the age of
G
16 years
The noise level when working can exceed 85 dB(A);
G
wear ear protection
If the cord is damaged or cut through while working, do
G
not touch the cord, but immediately disconnect the plug
Never use tool when cord is damaged; have it replaced
G
by a qualified person
Always check that the supply voltage is the same as the
G
voltage indicated on the nameplate of the tool (tools with
a rating of 230V or 240V can also be connected to a
220V supply)
This tool is not suitable for wet cutting
G
The kerf guide has to be adjusted in case different
G
diameters of sawblade are used
Do not use a circular saw blade which is cracked,
G
deformed or dull
Do not use a circular saw blade of which the body
G
thickness is bigger, or the teeth setting is smaller than
the thickness of the kerf guide
After switching off your circular saw, never stop the rotation
G
of the saw blade by a lateral force applied against it
Never clamp or wedge the lower guard in open position;
G
ensure that it operates freely
Never use circular saw blades made of high speed steel
G
(HSS)
Never use grinding/cutting discs with this tool
G
Do not remove the kerf guide
G
Keep hands away from the saw blade while the tool
G
is in use
Do not cut material containing asbestos
G

Do not attempt to cut extremely small workpieces

Remove all obstacles on top of as well as underneath
G
the cutting path before you start cutting
Do not work overhead with the tool

Only use a saw table provided with a switch that prevents
G
restarting of the motor after interruption of voltage
Always disconnect plug from power source before
G
making any adjustment or changing any accessory
WHEN CONNECTING NEW 3-PIN PLUG (U.K. ONLY):
Do not connect the blue (= neutral) or brown (= live) wire
G
in the cord of this tool to the earth terminal of the plug
If for any reason the old plug is cut off the cord of this
G
tool, it must be disposed of safely and not left unattended
USE
Changing saw blade 3
G
- open lower guard A by using lever B
- change saw blade with saw teeth and arrow printed
! make sure that clamping surfaces C of flanges are
- tighten blade bolt D with hex key 1/8 turn past finger
Adjusting cutting depth (0-40 mm) 4
G
- for an optimal quality cut the saw blade should not
- loosen knob E
- raise/lower foot F until desired cutting depth is set on
- tighten knob E
Adjusting cutting angle (0-45°) 5

- loosen knob H
- tilt tool until desired cutting angle is set on scale using
- tighten knob H
! when bevel cutting, cutting depth does not
90° Cutting angle check 5

- adjust and tighten foot F to maximum cutting depth 4
- adjust and tighten cutting angle to 0°
- check for 90° angle between the blade and bottom of
- if adjustment is needed, tilt and tighten foot to 45° and
