The IP address is set under
"Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)"
by clicking the
"Properties"
button.
A checkmark in
"Show icon in notification area when
connected ... "
has an icon display the status of the
connection in the notification area.
To assign a fixed IP address, select
"Use the following IP address"
Under "IP address:", enter a free IP
address for private networks, e.g.
192.168.10.100
and under "Subnet mask:" the
associated subnet mask
255.255.255.0
Finish off with "OK".
