    INTRODUCTION To be used with a lap-sash seatbelt by a child whose shoulders are above the lower shoulder height marker with head restraint in lowest position (approximately 4 years of age) until the child’s shoulders reach the upper shoulder height marker with head restraint in highest position (approximately 8 to 10 years of age).

  • Page 10 • DO NOT USE WITH JUST A LAP BELT. You must use with lap-sash seat belt, or with a seat belt and child harness. • The lap part of the seatbelt must be firmly across the thighs and the sash belt fitted diagonally across the chest and on the shoulder.
  • Page 11 IMPORTANT : • Protect all webbing from abrasion and cutting by sharp corners and edges. • This restraint must be used facing forward and in conjunction with a lap-sash seat belt or converted seatbelt and approved child harness. • THIS RESTRAINT IS NOT SUITABLE FOR USE WHERE THE TOP TETHER STRAP MAY FALL INTO A SPLIT IN THE SEAT BACK OR OFF THE SIDE OF THE SEAT.

    HOW TO SETUP ADJUSTING THE HEADREST A. The headrest can be adjusted to lock into different height locations. This can be done with the child in the seat. B. Hold backrest as shown and squeeze the headrest adjustment handle at the back of the headrest with the other hand, to move the headrest up or down.
  • Page 18 HOW TO SETUP ADJUSTING BASE EXTENSION This booster seat has a base extension which can be easily adjusted by rotating the knob. This is to accommodate the leg length of larger children. When should the base be extended? Extend the base so that the front edge of the base is close to the back of your child’s knees.
  • Page 19 HOW TO SETUP ADJUSTING THE SECUREGUARD™ DEVICE Under booster seat The SecureGuard™ Device crotch strap must be adjusted so that it fits the seatbelt correctly to the child. The crotch strap length adjuster can be found under the seat. The seat base trim will need to be Adjuster removed to aid adjustment.

    HOW TO INSTALL INSTALLING INTO VEHICLE A. Position the restraint in the car facing-forward in the chosen seating position. Adjust the headrest to the correct height for your child (refer to page 17). B. Lengthen the top tether strap and connect the Attachment Clip to the vehicle upper anchorage point making sure to remove as many twists as possible.

Tighten adjustable top tether strap by pulling Pull to remove slack adjusting strap (C) to remove slack, but do not over-tighten causing the restraint base to lift off the vehicle seat. Always secure the loose end of the top tether strap to prevent it hanging out of the car or being accessible by the child.

    HOW TO INSTALL CHILD HARNESS INSTALLATION METHOD If the seating position has a lap only seat belt then no other vehicle seatbelt preparation is required. If the seating position has a lap-sash seatbelt then it MUST be converted into a lap belt by fitting a Gated 3 bar slide, see page 32.
  • Page 31 HOW TO INSTALL CHILD HARNESS CONVERTING A LAP-SASH SEATBELT FOR USE WITH THE CHILD HARNESS. With the booster the seat installed in the vehicle, Gated Slide sit the child in the seat. Fit the vehicle lap sash belt into the vehicle buckle and position the lap strap over the child's hips and thighs.

  • Page 34 HOW TO INSTALL CHILD HARNESS USING LAP ONLY SEAT BELT OR CONVERTED LAP-SASH SEATBELT WITH THE CHILD HARNESS Install the Child Harness to the booster seat and anchorages as detailed previously (page 28- 29). Install the booster seat into the vehicle. Ensure the top tether strap is attached to the vehicle upper anchorage and adjusted correctly.

Check and adjust the seat belt to sit firmly but comfortably around the child's pelvis. The seat belt buckle should be located as low as possible below the Adjuster child's hip.

    CARE & MAINTENANCE REGULAR CARE OF THIS RESTRAINT: Please check the following items regularly to ensure the safety of your child: A. Check the seatbelt for fraying. B. Ensure there are no cracks in the plastic moulding. C. If any part of the restraint is cracked or broken, seek repair immediately or replace the child restraint.

    Safe-n-Sound supplied replacement cover with identical shoulder height markers or a replacement cover meeting AS/NZS 8005. ONLY USE BRITAX SAFE-N-SOUND SEAT COVERS AND ACCESSORIES THAT ARE DESIGNED AND TESTED FOR USE WITH THIS PRODUCT. MAINTENANCE Other than cleaning, there are no parts on this booster seat that require user maintenance.
  • Page 40 CARE & MAINTENANCE TO REMOVE COVER Remove Plastic Flaps A. Locate and remove all elastic straps from their hooks/positions. Remove middle cover first by pulling out plastic flaps from both the upper and lower edge oh the seat (see illustration). Pull out the cover from the channel running along the edge of the wings.
  • Page 41 CARE & MAINTENANCE C. Remove seat base cover by releasing elastic loops from rear of seat base. Feed through the SecureGuard™ Device and the base adjustment knob then slide the cover off.
