Button operations
Entering Test mode
While holding down the two buttons [PREVIEW] [BANK-], turn on the power.
Continue holding down the buttons until you hear the beep.
The top screen of test mode will then appear.
In the top page, press [ENTER] (VALUE knob), to begin fron test item1: Shock
test.
For test items 3-5, 7-12 the next test item will bigin automatically when each
test completes successfully.
The top page displays a list of the test items. You can use [
VALUE) to move the cursor, and the press [DEC] to directly select the item.
By pressing [SHIFT]+[
]+[
] you can forcibily move to the next or previous
test item even if the current test has not yet been copleted.
From each test mode you can press [MODE] to return to the top page.
For details on each screen, refer to the test item detailes below.
Exiting Test mode
Turn the power off.
Test item details

Verify that Program ROM version.
If the version is not appropriate, perform update.
For details on the update procedure, refer to "Updating the system."

The sequence note pattern is repeated for the test. (MAIN-OUT, PHONES)
Listen to the sound, and verify that there is no noise or other problem with the
sound.
Perform the impact test.
Lift the body of front side to a higher position (about 1-inch) and drop it, when
you check the sound (unusual sound or a sound breaks off).
The same thing is performed.(right-hand side and left-hand side)
Verify whether the screw detainment part in the case each part loosens and
case resonation are not generated.
Connect the headphones, and listen to the sound.
Set the VOLUME to the minimum, and the the maximum position, and verify
that there is no cracking or other abnormality.

The sound will stop when you press [DEC], and resume when you press [DEC]
again.
Verify that the output is muted while you hold down [INC].
Press [
Problem
The sound becomes interrupted.
The noise mixes.
The display flickers.
It reboots.
2: Beep Check
Press [INC] once, and a high-pitched and a low-pitched beep will each sound
once.
Verify that the beeps are sounded, and then press [
test.
