on the product, owner's manual, battery, or battery package,
it signifies that when you wish to dispose of this product,
manual, package or battery you must do so in an approved
manner. Do not discard this product, manual, package or
battery along with ordinary household waste. Disposing in
the correct manner will prevent harm to human health and
potential damage to the environment. Since the correct method of

Cautions for use
Each individual e/MERGE unit will differ slightly depending on the
type of pad used, how it is tuned or played, and how it has been
maintained. Please take note of the following points as well as the
preceding "Cautions for safety."
Do not place heavy objects on the PureTouch Electronic Pad
for long periods
If pressure is applied to the surface of the pad for a long period, the
rubber cushion and sensor under the pad will become deformed, and
this can harm the playability of the instrument.
Avoid placing heavy objects on the pad or placing the PureTouch
pads upside down for long periods.
Feedback
This instrument uses sensors to detect the vibrations of the pads and
body that are generated when the pads are struck with a stick. In
some situations, the e/MERGE PureTouch pads may also act as a
microphone and pick up loud sounds from nearby high output
speakers in addition to vibrations produced by directly striking the
PureTouch pad.
Especially when monitoring the e/MERGE electronic drum set with a
large PA setup, the e/MERGE audio emitted by the speakers can be
transmitted through the floor or stand (or directly through the air)
and be picked up once again by the e/MERGE.
When such vibrations are detected by the e/MERGE and sent back
through the speakers, feedback will occur, and an uncontrollable and
continuous sound will result.
Feedback places severe stress on amps and speakers, and can cause
serious damage to equipment. Thus, when a powerful monitoring
system is used, the equalizers and limiters of the PA system should be
adjusted to prevent the e/MERGE from producing feedback, similar to
preventing feedback for vocal and acoustic instrument mics.
Data handling
Incorrect operation or malfunction may cause the contents of memory
to be lost, so we recommend that you save important data on USB
storage devices or other media. Please be aware that Pearl will accept
no responsibility for any damages which may result from loss of data.
