Possible causes
The ground coffee has not been
tamped sufficiently.
There is insufficient ground coffee. Use a larger quantity.
The coffee grind is too coarse.
Poor quality ground coffee.
The ground coffee has been
tamped too hard.
There is too much ground coffee. Decrease the quantity used.
The boiler outlet or filter is
blocked.
The coffee grind is too fine.
Scale build-up.
Solution
Tamp the coffee harder.
Use only ground coffee for
espresso machines.
Change type of ground
coffee.
Tamp the coffee with less
force.
Clean the outlet and the
filter.
Use only ground coffee for
espresso machines.
Perform a descaling cycle.
