Important:
Ensure that the traction unit has 5
weights (part number 24-5790-01) installed before
installing the mounting kit.
Note:
If the unit does not have lift arms, install the
following before proceeding:

117–0806 Left Lift Arm Assembly
•
117–0800 Right Lift Arm Assembly
This kit includes the required pins for mounting the
arms to the Groundsmaster 3280-D.

Removing the Cutting Unit
from the Lift Arms
No Parts Required
Procedure
1.
Position the machine on level surface, lower the
cutting unit to the floor, move the lift lever to the
F
position, shut the engine off, and engage
LOAT
the parking brake.
2.
Remove the bolt and washer mounted to the top
of each height-of-cut rod
(Figure
1).

3. Height-of-cut rod
4. Lift-arm pads
5. Thrust washers
6. Clevis pin
3.
Remove the hairpin and clevis pin securing the
height-of-cut collar to the height-of-cut rod on
the rear of the cutting unit
4.
Remove the height-of-cut collar.
Note:
You will use these components to install
the attachment frame.
5.
Remove the hairpin cotters and clevis pins
securing the lift arms to the castor arm brackets
(Figure
1).
Note:
You will use these components to install
the attachment frame.
6.
Roll the cutting unit away from the traction unit,
separating the male and female sections of the
PTO shaft.
