Adjustment ETW
The KXA-5-1-...ET provides the possibility for full or empty adjustment. We recommend, always to do
the full adjustment. Ensure that the active area of the sensor is in contact with the product to be detected
or the product is placed in the active area of the sensor. The full adjustment does not require an empty
adjustment beforehand.
Full adjustment - Active surface covered
• The active surface of the sensor must be covered completely with the product to be detected or the
product must be in the desired position.
• Activate the EasyTeach menu and keep it active for approx. 10 seconds until the LED flashes yellow.
Output A1 and A2 are pulsing alternately.
• Break the connection.
• During the initialization process the LED is flashing yellow with a high frequency. Output A1 and A2
are pulsing alternately.
The full adjustment is finished when the LED is static yellow and A1 is high. The sensor is now optimally
adjusted for the detection of the product currently being used and the current mounting conditions. The
switching hysteresis is calculated automatically.
Empty adjustment - Active surface free
When the adjustment with the product to be detected is not possible, an empty adjustment can be made,
e. g. the product to be detected is not known at the time of the sensor adjustment, but an overfilling must
be excluded. When the level is filled for the first time, we recommend making a full adjustment so that an
optimal adjustment is made with the sensor for the material to be detected.
• The active surface of the sensor is free.
• Activate the EasyTeach menu and keep it active for approx. 5 seconds until the LED flashes green.
Output A1 and A2 are pulsing alternately.
• Terminate the connection.
• During the initialization process the LED is flashing green with higher frequency. Output A1 and A2
are pulsing alternately.
The empty adjustment is finished when the LED is static green. With this adjustment the sensor has the
largest sensing distance that is possible at the current mounting position. The switching hysteresis is
calculated automatically.
Attention:
Because of the high sensitivity of the proximity sensor it is possible that during the adjust-
ment the hand can lead to the switching of the sensor or may influence the switching point.
Therefore it is important to take note, that there are constant conditions within the measuring
area, except for the change for which detection is required. Please check the function after
adjustment and correct it if necessary.
After mechanical changes or change to the position of the sensor or alterations within the
measuring area a re-adjustment is necessary.
