Operation

ON/OFF Switch

To turn on the machine press the ON/OFF switch (8). To turn off the machine,
release the switch. The switch is used to govern the rotation speed of the unit.
The deeper the switch is pressed, the faster the unit runs.
Inserting of Tool Bit
The impact drill is fitted with a toothed drill chuck. Insert the desired tool bit
and tighten it manually. Then use the chuck key provided to fasten the bit
firmly by tightening the chuck evenly at the position of each of the three holes
in the jaws of the chuck.
Screwdriver bits should always be inserted into a bit holder. Always use
screwdriver tool bits which match the screw head. Use only sharpened High
Strength Steel (HSS) drill bits for drilling in metal. Appropriate drill bits are
available though the Westfalia tool bit program.
Changing the Rotating Direction
With the rotating direction switch (7) the rotating direction of the unit can be
reversed. In the middle position the main switch is locked. Set the switch in
this position when laying down the machine to avoid accidental start-up.
The rotating direction switch can only be switched while the ON/OFF switch is
released.

Setting the Torque

With the torque adjustment ring (4) you can set the maximum torque.
When starting work; set the torque to a low value. When the set torque is
reached, the clutch is released and the work piece cannot be damaged. When
the ring is set to the drill symbol, the clutch is locked and can not slip.
