COMPACTOR PLATE
Introduction
To get the most out of your new plate
compactor, please read through these
instructions and the attached safety
instructions before use. Please also save
the instructions in case you need to refer to
them at a later date.
The plate compactor is used to compact
soil, gravel or sand during various types

Special safety directions

The engine is supplied without oil.
Remember to fi ll with engine oil before use!
The engine uses unleaded fuel. You should
therefore never put leaded petrol, diesel,
paraffi n or other fuels in the tank.
Store petrol out of the reach of children and
in a clearly marked, approved container.
Wipe up any spilt petrol with a dry rag after
fi lling with fuel.
Smoking and the use of naked fl ames
during fuelling should be avoided.

Never fi ll up with petrol or engine oil when
the engine is running.
Do not overfi ll with petrol or oil, as this may
cause a fi re hazard.
Store fl ammable materials at a safe distance
from the engine, as the exhaust gases are
very hot and could ignite such materials.
Never use indoors. The exhaust
gases contain carbon monoxide and
hydrocarbons that are hazardous to humans
and animals if inhaled.
Never start the machine without the air
fi lter in place.
Avoid raising idling speed above 3500 RPM,
as this can cause damage to the engine and
personal injury.
Never touch engine components during
or immediately after use. They may be very
hot.

Keep hands and feet well clear of moving
and rotating parts.
Do not use on steep slopes where the
machine may tip over or run out of control.
Make sure that the vibrations cannot cause

a landslip, which may pose a danger to
others.
Do not run the plate compactor over
electrical cables, telephone wires or other
installations that may be damaged by the
vibrations.
Always follow the engine maintenance
instructions under "Cleaning and
Maintenance".
Check that the switch is in the OFF position
and that the spark plug lead is disconnected
before adjusting, cleaning or performing
maintenance on the machine.
