Maintenance of exhaust-sample probe and
exhaust-sample hose
! In order to avoid inhaling any soot dust, an extraction system
has to be used for blowing out.
– Detach exhaust-sample hose from RTM 430.
– Blow out exhaust-sample probe and exhaust-sample hose
using oil-free compressed air.

Cleaning optical heads and measuring chamber

Cleaning falls due when the malfunction notice is displayed,
stating that the device is not ready for a measurement and it has
to be cleaned.
i Irrespective of this malfunction notice we advise
maintenance on the device, depending on its usage, each
month.
The cleaning procedure described below is valid for the sender
and receiver sides.
1.
Remove the cover (Fig. 1; Pos. 4,6) at the side walls using a
suitable tool (e.g. screwdriver).

Remove both optical heads by hand.
! Do not use cleansing agent to clean the optical heads and
measuring chamber!
3.
Clean the measuring chamber pipe using a cleaning brush:
- Slide cleaning brush through the pipe until it is visible at
the opposite side.
4.
Use a clean cloth to clean glass surfaces of optical heads.
