Please note the following safety notes to avoid mal-
functions, damage or physical injury:
 Keep the device away from children or persons in need of
supervision. It is not a toy.
 Make sure the clamps cannot touch each other. This can
destroy the unit, lead to extreme amounts of sparks, or even to
an explosion.
 Ensure correct polarity when connecting batteries and other
devices (black battery clamp to minus, red battery clamp to
plus). Wrong polarity can lead to the destruction of the unit, to
extreme sparking, or, in the extreme, the explosion of the unit.
 When working on a battery, wear eye protection to protect your
eyes from flying sparks and battery acid.
 If battery acid is splattered on skin or clothing, wash out with
high amounts of water and soap. Soap neutralises battery
acid. If battery acid gets into the eyes or on mucosa, wash
under running, cool water for at least 10 minutes and consult a
physician.
 Always use care when handling batteries and observe the
safety notes of the manufacturer of the lead-acid battery.
 Warning! Vehicles that have on-board computerized systems
may be damaged if the vehicle battery is boosted. Before
battery boosting this type of vehicle, read the vehicle owner's
manual to confirm that external-starting assistance is advised.
 Do not wear jewellery, watches, necklaces or similar items
when working with batteries, to avoid electric shock or short
circuits. Do not place metal items on any battery.
 Do not smoke or work with a naked flame around batteries or
motors.
 Be very careful with metal tools around the car battery. A short
circuit between earth and the positive terminal can lead to a
