Modifying the Device Configuration with BIOS SETUP

Changing the device configuration
The device configuration of your computer unit is preset for working with the
software supplied to you. You should only modify the preset values if you have
performed technical modifications to your device or if a fault occurs when the unit
is powered up.
BIOS SETUP program
The SETUP program is in the ROM-BIOS. The information with regard to the
system configuration are stored in the battery-backed memory of the computer
unit.
Use SETUP to define the hardware configuration (e.g. hard disk type) and system
properties. Setup is also used to set the system date and time on the clock
module.
Incorrect BIOS data
If incorrect BIOS data is detected during the boot routine, the prompts BIOS the
user to
S start BIOS SETUP by pressing F2 or
S continue booting by pressing F1.
Starting BIOS SETUP
On completion of the startup test, the BIOS gives you the opportunity of starting
the SETUP program The following message appears on the display:
PRESS < F2 > to enter SETUP
To start SETUP, proceed as follows:
1. Reset the computer unit (warm or cold reset).
2. Press F2 for as long as the BIOS prompt appears.

the "Item Specific Help" section of the respective menu for information on the
selected SETUP entry.
