    General notes General notes This user manual contains important information on safe operation of the device. Read and follow all safety notes and all instructions.     Safety instructions Safety instructions The Sixta Pad converts digital trigger signals from drum pads into various percussion sounds. Use the device only as described in this user manual. Any other use or use under other oper‐ ating conditions is considered to be improper and may result in personal injury or property damage.

Possible hearing damage With loudspeakers or headphones connected, the device can produce volume levels that may cause temporary or permanent hearing impairment. Do not operate the device permanently at a high volume level. Decrease the volume level immediately if you experience ringing in your ears or hearing impairment.

    In and outputs In and outputs Only use the supplied power adapter to operate the device. Always turn the device off before connecting or disconnecting the power adapter. Unplug the DC power adapter from the mains when the device is not in use. Here you can connect headphones to listen to the drum sounds.
  • Page 18 In and outputs You can feed the audio output signal from these sockets to e.g. an amplifier. Here you can connect the hi-hat pedal. If there is no hi-hat pedal connected to the HH CTRL input, hitting the hi-hat pad creates the sound of a closed hi-hat.
  • Page 19 In and outputs When you have connected a pedal to the KICK input, step on the pedal to get the sound of a bass drum. The sockets HH CTRL and KICK are interchangeable. You can use this socket to feed an external audio signal into the unit and to mix it with the sound of the Sixta Pad.

    Device functions Device functions Drum kits There are 30 drum kits available in the Sixta Pad: 10 factory presets and 20 user presets. You can set the voice, the sensitivity and the volume of each pad to programme up to 20 drum kits. You can choose from 163 different instrument voices for programming each pad.
  • Page 21 Device functions On / off switch Slide the ‘POWER’ switch into the ON position to turn the device on. The display briefly lights up. The drum kit menu is the default menu to be displayed after powering on. Select a drum kit.
  • Page 22 Device functions Set up the drum kit Press the [DRUM] button to activate the drum kit menu. Press the buttons to select a drum kit. The LED display shows the number of the current drum kit (P01-P10 = preset drum kits, U11-U30 = user drum kits). Press the [PAD] button to activate the pad menu in ‘User kit’...
  • Page 23 Device functions Press the [VALUE/RHYTHM] button to adjust the pad volume. When the [VALUE/RHYTHM] button lights up press the buttons to set the volume in a range of 1 to 10. Press the [PAD/ASSIGN] button to set the sound for each pad using the buttons.
  • Page 24 Device functions Press the [SAVE] button to save the new settings. You can only save the values of the user drum kits. Press the [PLAY] button to start or stop the demo song. You can also press the button to mute the drum part and play along yourself. Demo song playback In DRUM or METRO mode, press the [SONG] button to activate the DEMO SONG menu.
  • Page 25 Device functions Press the [GAIN/TEMPO] button to activate the TEMPO menu. Use the buttons to adjust the tempo in a range of 30 to 260 beats per minute (bpm). The tempo is dis‐ played. The original tempo is restored when selecting a new song. Press the [VALUE/RHYTHM] button to activate the accompaniment volume menu for the demo songs.
  • Page 26 Device functions Press the [SAVE] button to save the user settings. Press the [PLAY] button or hit a drum pad to start or stop the demo song. When [PLAY] lights up the demo song playback starts. Press the [PLAY] button again to stop the demo song playback.
  • Page 27 Device functions Press the [GAIN/TEMPO] button to activate the TEMPO menu. Use the buttons to adjust the tempo in a range of 30 to 260 bpm. The tempo is displayed. Press the [VALUE/RHYTHM] button to activate the RHYTHM menu. Use the buttons to select the desired rhythm.
  • Page 28 Device functions Press the [PAD ASSIGN] button to change the click sound. Use the buttons to select the desired sound (1: click, 2: cowbell or 3: conga). The number of the currently selected sound is displayed. Press the [SAVE] button to save the settings. Start the metronome by hitting a pad.
  • Page 29 Device functions Recording mode Press the [REC] button to activate the recording mode. Activate record standby mode: Press the [SONG] button. The [SONG] button lights up when a demo song is selected. Press the [METRO] button to turn the metronome on. The [METRO] button lights up. Now you can use the buttons to change the tempo setting.
  • Page 30 Device functions When starting a new recording, the previous recording will automatically be over‐ written. DRUM OFF and MIDI OUT Press the [DRUM OFF] button to mute the drum sound in a demo song with accompa‐ nying instruments. This button is deactivated during playback of a recording. Press the [MIDI OUT] button to output a MIDI signal at the MIDI out port.
