Note to CATV system installer
This reminder is provided to call the CATV system installer's attention to Article 820-40 of the NEC that pro-
vides guidelines for proper grounding and, in particular, specifies that the cable ground should be connected
to the grounding system of the building, as close to the point of cable entry as practical.

Notes
¡Connect the DVD/VCR COMBINATION UNITS directly to a TV. If the A/V cables are connected to a
VCR, pictures may be distorted due to the copy protection system.
S-VIDEO INPUT JACK OR COMPONENT VIDEO IN JACKS
FOR TVs WITH S-VIDEO INPUT JACK
Use an S-Video cable (commercially available) in place of the yellow video cable to enjoy higher quality pic-
tures.
The S-Video connection only supplies video (picture) in the DVD mode of the DVD/VCR COMBINATION
UNITS. Therefore, in order to use the VCR features or view TV channels on the DVD/VCR COMBINATION
UNITS, you still need to either connect the RF cable to the ANT-OUT jack of the DVD/VCR COMBINATION
UNITS and the TV's Antenna In jack, or connect the yellow video cable as described earlier (Fig.1). To connect
the supplied RF cable, see "DVD/VCR TO TV CONNECTION" above.

SETTING THE CH3/CH4
If your TV does not have A/V terminals:
When the DVD/VCR COMBINATION UNITS is in
the VCR Playback mode or when the DVD/VCR
COMBINATION UNITS is in the VCR mode, your TV
will receive signals from the DVD/VCR COMBINA-
TION UNITS on either channel 3 or channel 4. To use
the DVD/VCR COMBINATION UNITS with your TV,
set the selector switch to CH3 or CH4 (which is locat-
ed in the back of your
DVD/VCR COMBINATION
UNITS), whichever is not
used for normal broadcasts in
your area. Then set your TV
to the same channel.
