Start-up
a) Switching on
Press the MODE button for 2 seconds to switch on the device. The display shows the wind ve-
locity, the temperature, and the battery status. The background lighting of the display remains
switched on for 12 seconds.
b) Setting up the wind velocity unit and the measurement method
After switching on the device, press the MODE button for 3 seconds until the indicator „m/s"
begins to flash. With the SET button, you can subsequently select the desired unit. To confirm
the selected unit, press the MODE button.
To select the measurement method (max, avg, cu), press again the MODE button for 3 sec-
onds. The indicator will be refreshed. Press the SET button repeatedly for 5 times to select the
measurement method Cu (you will have to go through the menu of the wind velocity unit first).
To select the measurement method, press again the SET button once or twice. As soon as
the desired measurement method flashes, you can confirm it by pressing the MODE button.
• Your settings will be saved even after the device is switched off. The settings will be lost when
the batteries are changed.
• Air current velocity units: m/s, km/h, ft/min (feet/min), knots, mph (miles/h)
• Measurement methods: maximum value [max] / average [avg] / current value [cu]
c) Adjusting the temperature unit
The temperature unit can be adjusted on the back of the device. The (hidden) push knob is
labelled with the symbol °C/°F on the device. Press the knob with a paper clip or other suitable
tool. If the indicator does not immediately change to °C or °F, move the paper clip with a little
pressure into the opening.
d) Background lighting
The background light is activated by pressing any button for 12 seconds.
e) Measurement
When the impeller (propeller) turns, the wind velocity, the temperature, and the Beaufort scale
will be shown on the display. When the temperature is under 0°C, the wind chill will be dis-
played.
f) Switching off manually
Press the buttons MODE and SET at the same time to switch off the device.
g) Automatic switch-off
When the device is not in use, it will automatically switch off after 14 minutes.
h) Changing the batteries
Change the battery as soon as the battery symbol no longer displays the charging dashes.
Open the battery compartment on the back with a suitable screwdriver. Make sure that the
polarity is correct when changing the battery.

Maintenance and Cleaning

• No maintenance is necessary for the device apart for occasional cleaning and the changing
of the battery.
• Clean the exterior of the device only with a soft, dry cloth or brush.
• Never use aggressive or chemical cleaning agents, since this might damage the surface of
the housing or impair operation.
Disposal
a) Product
Electronic devices are recyclable material and do not belong in the household
waste. Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statu-
tory regulations.
Remove the battery from the device and dispose of it separately from the device.
b) Batteries/rechargeable batteries
As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all spent batteries/
rechargeable batteries; disposal of them in the household waste is prohibited.
Batteries/rechargeable batteries contain harmful materials and are labelled with the
symbol shown to indicate that disposal in the household waste is forbidden. The
symbols of the critical heavy metals are: Cd=cadmium, Hg=mercury, Pb=lead (the
marking can be seen on the battery/rechargeable battery, e.g., underneath the re-
fuse bin symbol shown on the left).
You can return your used batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge at the official col-
lection points of your community, in our stores, or at places where batteries or rechargeable
batteries are sold.
You thereby fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
