Installation
WARNING:
Make sure power to the insert has been shut off prior to installation (unplug the power cord).
Do not connect 110-120 VAC to the gas control valve or wiring system of this fireplace.
HINT:
Install the blower prior to connecting the gas line or installing the insert.

Access the back of the insert and remove the 14 screws holding the back panel in place (see Figure 1).
Remove the back panel and place it aside (see Figure 2).

Remove the two screws on each side of the insert baseplate (see Figure 3).

- Page 2 Fan, DVI Insert – 31 and 33 DVI Installation Instructions (sku 99000167) The baseplate is attached to the insert with two rivets at the front. By pushing on the top of the insert you can tilt the insert upwards, allowing for better access to the area under the insert (see Figure 4). A bracket is provided on both sides to prop the insert up (see Figure 5).
- Page 3 Fan, DVI Insert – 31 and 33 DVI Installation Instructions (sku 99000167) Route the wires labeled “BLOWER” to a location behind the insert (see Figure 9). Place the blowers near the back of the insert and attach these wires as shown in Figure 10.
- Page 4 Fan, DVI Insert – 31 and 33 DVI Installation Instructions (sku 99000167) Make sure the grommets and bushings are properly positioned on the blower assemblies (note: there are four grommets and three bushings on each assembly – the outer back grommet does not require a bushing).
- Page 5 Attach the rheostat wires to the wiring harness and secure to either the control panel or surround panel. See the illustration below for details. NOTE: The wires may be tight when the rheostat is attached to the control panel on the 33 DVI. Use the extension wires if necessary.

Carefully tuck the wires under the burner, making sure wiring does not contact any hot or moving surfaces.
