Warning
Risk of electric shock. Ensure that the processor is disconnected from the
power supply before removing the lid of the processor.

5.1 Power supply connections

The Model FG Processor requires a power supply of between 18 and 40V d.c.
(24V d.c. nominal). The range of permissible power supply voltages in relation to
the loop resistance is given in Fig. 5-1.
Warning
In order to meet IEC 1010 safety requirements, the power supply output
must be double isolated from any hazardous, live voltages.

1)
Connect the processor, power supply and indicator in a 2-wire current loop
with the indicator in the negative conductor. Refer to Fig. 5-2.
Note
Ensure that the indicator is connected to the negative conductor.
2)
Connect the positive and negative conductors to the thermometer to the
terminals marked + and - on the terminal strip as indicated in Fig. 5-2.
An automatic polarity correction facility is incorporated so that the
conductors may be connected to either terminal. The third terminal, marked
S, is provided for screen connections as required. Refer to Section 5.4.
