Installation
3.1 Positioning the Optic Head
Refer to Fig. 3-1 for the target size table. The thermometer has a circular field of
view with a conical sight path. The field of view is 100:1.
To mount the optic head, use the two clamping nuts on the external M16 thread
of the optic head.
NOTES
When installing the optic head, ensure that the target fills the field of view
at the chosen distance.
If possible, mount the optic head so that the line of sight is at right angles
to the target surface.
Ensure that the sight path is not obstructed or obscured.
Target Diameter = Distance + 10mm/0.4in
3.2 Mounting Assemblies
A special air purge assembly, Part Nº 091.446, provides air purging and a quick,
no-tools disconnection facility for the Fibroptic Model FG thermometer.
The "Universal" adapter (Part Nº 028.825) enables the air purge assembly (Part
Nº 091.446) to be attached to other manufacturer's fittings (e.g. Leeds & North-
rup and Honeywell). Refer to Fig. 3-3.
The Adapter (Part Nº 028.826) enables the air purge assembly (Part Nº 091.446)
to be connected to Land refractory sighting tubes type STO. Refer to Fig. 3-4.
Fig. 3-2 shows the complete range of Fibroptic Thermometer optic head mounting
accessories.
