Introduction

Fibroptic Model FG is a fibre optics based radiation thermometer, intended prima-
rily for use in the glass industry on forehearths, refiners and melters.
The thermometer is designed to provide accurate and stable temperature meas-
urement. Five models are available covering the ranges: 980 to 1300°C, 1000 to
1400°C, 1200 to 1650°C, 1800 to 2400°F and 2200 to 3000°F.
The thermometer comprises an optic head and light guide assembly, coupled to a
detector/processing assembly.
The key features of Fibroptic Model FG are:
1)
A 4 to 20mA linear temperature sensor, powered on a two wire loop.
2)
A test function which allows the thermometer, interconnections and indicator
to be functionally checked.
3)
High accuracy linearisation.
4)
Very low drift with ambient temperature and time.
5)
Over-voltage protection.
6)
Adjustable emissivity setting, in the range 0.10 to 1.00
