d. Lock the side panel covers by sliding the bars to the front of the rack.
e. Place a locked/unlocked sticker on the inside of the cover panel so that when the slide bar is in
the locked position, the tab is over the locked symbol (11), as shown in Figure 57 on page 85,
and over the unlocked symbol (12), when the slide bar is unlocked.

f. Repeat the procedure for the left side of the rack.
Ruggedized kit
You might need to open the ruggedized brace for maintenance or remove or replace a part in the
ruggedized kit. This section includes procedures so that you can perform these tasks.
The ruggedized kits, 7014-T00 or 7014-T42 feature code 6080 or 7014-T42 feature code ERGC, should
be ordered at the same time the rack is ordered. The ruggedized kit brackets are installed at the
manufacturer.
Note: If you are installing a rack with the ruggedized kit and need to secure the rack to the floor, see
"Installing the 7014-T00 and 7014-T42 racks" on page 1.
Releasing or securing the ruggedized brace
You might need to release the ruggedized brace. There are two ruggedized kit options available for the
7014 racks. Feature code 6080 is available for the triangular brace in the 7014-T00 or 7014-T42 racks,
and feature code ERGC is available for the X brace in the 7014-T42 rack. Feature code ERGC provides an
X brace in the front and rear of the 7014-T42 rack. The triangular brace (feature code 6080) is only
located at the rear of the 7014-T00 or 7014-T42 racks. Choose the ruggedized kit option that fits your
needs.
The following illustration highlights the contents of the feature code 6080 kit and the approximate
location of each bracket and hinges in the event that you need to uninstall and reinstall a part.
