QUICK START GUIDE
Ducted fan speed switch
When the ACT 7 is fitted with ducting, the position of the
ducted fan speed switch inside the ACT 7 room unit has
to be changed. The switch is accessed by removing the
top cover (five screws). The switch is located at the back of
the electric box in the position shown below. Change the
switch to the ducted fan position, and replace the cover with
the ducted panel. With the ACT 7 in this state, when the
fan speed control dial is turned to full speed, the fan speed
display indicator will display red bars (see Controls). If the
ducted panel is changed back to the standard panel ensure
the switch is changed back to the non ducted position.

Room unit
Ideally, the ACT 7 room unit should be positioned in the
middle of the shortest wall in the room blowing down the
length of the room. If there is more than one ACT 7 in the
same area, then they would normally be positioned side
by side, and equally spaced along the long wall, all pointing
in the same direction. Sometimes it may be necessary to
position units around the perimeter of an area but, in this
case, great care should be taken to avoid one unit blowing
cold air straight into another which will adversely affect
operation. Good and correct air flow is, perhaps, the single
most important aspect of satisfactory use of portable air
conditioners. If in doubt seek the advice of your supplier.

Heat exchanger

The external heat exchanger must be sited external to the
area being cooled and, preferably outside. It can stand freely
on a flat surface or may be hung, in the upright position,
from a window-sill or balcony.
Use the chains provided to support the heat exchanger.
(See below).
The heat exchanger must NOT be supported by the
flexible lines alone.
