MANAGEMENT – UPGRADE AND CONFIGURATION

USING A PROVISIONING SERVER

Using Provisioning facilitates the upgrading and con guration of multiple conference
phones. To use this feature, the Provisioning needs to be enabled and con gured and
the appropriate les must be located on a server reachable from all phones, here called
a Provisioning server.
The con guration and rmware download are controlled with a con gurable frequency.
The default value is once every 30 minutes. (Note: The interval can only be edited
directly in the con guration le.)
Con guration priorities
Because the same con guration parameters can be entered in multiple locations, there
is a need for priorities. The local con guration les have the highest priority followed
by the global con guration le. Con guration entered on the unit itself, via the web
interface or directly on the phone, is overridden the next time the con guration les are
downloaded.
Note one exception. Phone language entered on the unit will take precedence.
Note also that the server les (global and local con guration les) do not have to
include all elements in the terminal con guration le. For example, by excluding
the SIP account password, it is possible to set this on the terminal it without being
overwritten by the server.
Files on the provisioning server
Global con guration le
The global con guration le contains the basic con guration – all settings that are
common for all conference phones on your location. One easy way to create this le is
simply to con gure one phone and export the con guration le.
The default name for this le is ot4135.xml, but it is possible to create a custom name
by using the pagename element in the con guration le.
Local con guration le
The local con guration le contains con guration parameters that are unique for every
conference phone. The settings in this le takes precedence over the settings in the
global con guration le.
The default name for this le is ot4135-<MAC>.xml, where <MAC> is the MAC address
of the speci c conference phone.
It is possible to create a custom name by using the pagename element in the con gura-
tion le.
