Es handelt sich um ein vom Deutschen Bundesgesundheitsamt (BGA) als lebensmittelphysiologisch unbedenklich eingestuftes Material. Ebenso sind die verwendeten Farbpigmente im Kunststoff frei von Blei und Cadmium. Dies gilt ebenfalls für den Passring und den Deckel. Der Fruchtkorb trägt das Werkstoff-Recycling-Zeichen und ist problemlos bei der Entsorgung.
