3.1 BEFORE BEGINNING DISASSEMBLY OR ASSEMBLY
This section describes the precautions to take during disassembly or assembly, the tools required,
and the small parts used in the scanner.
3.1.1 Precautions
Before disassembling or assembling the scanner, disconnect the power supply cable from
the external AC power socket. Failure to do so risks personal injuy. The
button for the scanner is wired into the seconday circuity. As a result, the printer still
remains live with current flowing even this switch is off.
Carefully read the following before beginning disassembly or assembly work.

Before disassembling the machine or checking operation, first loosen the thumb screw at the rear of
the unit. If you are returning the unit to a customer, attach the thumb screw.
