3. General description
9
This booklet includes instructions for installation, operation and
9
maintenance of Grundfos submersible sewage and wastewater
9
SE/SL pumps, fitted with motors of 9 to 30 kW.
9
The booklet also includes specific instructions for the pumps.
10
Special conditions for safe use of SE/SL pumps,
10
9-30 kW:
10
1. Make sure the moisture switches and thermal
11
switches are connected in two separate circuits
11
and have separate alarm outputs (motor stop) in
11
case of high humidity or high temperature in the
12
motor.
12
2. Bolts used for replacement must be class A4-80
13
or A2-80 according to EN/ISO 3506-1.
14
3. The flame path gaps of the motor are specified by
15
the manufacturer and are narrower than standard.
15
Note: In case of repairs, always use original
16
service parts from the manufacturer as this
16
ensures correct dimensions of flame path gaps.
17
4. During operation, the cooling jacket, when fitted,
17
must be filled with cooling liquid. The level of
17
pumped liquid must be controlled by level
18
switches connected to the motor control circuit.
19
5. The minimum level depends on the installation
19
type and is specified in these installation and
20
operating instructions.
20
Make sure the permanently attached cable is suitably
21
mechanically protected and terminated in a suitable
22
terminal board.
23
24
3.1 Applications
24
SE/SL pumps, 9-30 kW, are designed primarily for pumping of
raw sewage with short and long fibres and larger particles in
municipal and industrial wastewater systems and sludge with dry
solid content of up to 3 % for channel impellers and up to 5 % for
vortex impellers.
The pumped liquid for this type of pumps can be surface water,
industrial wastewater with long and short fibrous material,
residential wastewater with toilet waste, unscreened sewage in
municipal pumping stations or inlet pumping stations to the
wastewater treatment plant.
Secondly, the pumps will also be used for pumping raw water.
Depending on the installation type, the pumps can be used for
submerged or dry, horizontal or vertical installation.
Maximum solids size: 75-160 mm, depending on the range.
