Dialling a number using voice
commands

To dial a phone number using voice
interaction, proceed as follows:

Press
and say "Dial".
The system will reply "Number,
please".
Give the phone number as a se-
quence of single digits (e.g. "0", "1",
"2", "3", "4", "5", "6", "7", "8", "9",
"+" (plus), "#" (hash) or "*" (star).
For example, 0113290103 must be
pronounced as: "zero, one, one,
three, two, nine, zero, one, zero,
three".
The system will display and repeat
the complete phone number recog-
nised.
If the number is complete, say
"Call". If you have not finished giv-
ing the phone number, say the re-
maining digits and then say "Call".
The system will start the call to the
displayed phone number.
To end the phone call, press
ß
/MAIN for longer than 1 second.
You can give the phone number in
"digit groups" which allows you to
verify the recognised number one
group at a time. Digit groups are
created by the pauses you make
while saying the digits. If you pause
after pronouncing a certain number
of digits, a digit group is created. The
system will repeat the digits recog-
nised.
If the given digits are correct, you
can continue to dictate the phone
number. If they are incorrect, you
can delete the digit group by saying
"Delete". The system will delete
the last group of numbers and dis-
play the partially-composed phone
number. You can then give the re-
maining digits of the phone number.
To cancel the phone call, say "Can-
cel".
To cancel the phone number
displayed and start dialling again, say
"Start over".
To ask the system to repeat the
recognised phone number, say "Re-
peat". If no phone number was di-
alled, the system says that no num-
ber is available.
If the repeated phone number is
correct, say "Call" to start the call.
Note
When dialling a phone number using voice
commands, it is essential to minimise back-
ground noise in the car and that the oth-
er passengers do not speak while you are
dictating the number. Since the system op-
erates irrespective of who is speaking, it
will recognise other voices; there is there-
fore the risk that some numbers are
recognised incorrectly, added to correct
numbers or not recognised.
