6.1 Smoke Detector Fault

Possible Causes




Procedure
Step 1 Check whether the power supply to the smoke detector is abnormal.
In normal conditions, use a multimeter to measure the common terminal (base terminal 1) and
the signal terminal (base terminal 3) and check whether the voltage is about 24 V.
Y => The voltage is normal. Go to
N => Regulate the voltage to a normal value.
Check whether the fault is rectified.


Step 2 Replace the smoke detector.
Check whether the fault is rectified.


Step 3 Check the cable connection of the sensor base.
Issue 01 (2014-3-15)
The power supply to the smoke detector is abnormal.
The smoke detector is faulty.
The cable connection of the smoke detector is abnormal.
Multimeter
Screwdriver
Step ladder
Spare smoke detectors
If yes, no further action is required.
If no, go to Step 2.
If yes, no further action is required.
If no, go to Step 3.
