Explanation / Meaning
of Message
The gantry is hot and needs to
cool down.
The light centering device is
not functioning correctly.
The magnification sensors are
not functioning correctly.
Accurate thickness calculation
is failing.
The manual fine tune adjust-
ment of the compression is not
working.
Elevator is not functioning cor-
rectly
Brake rotation is not function-
ing properly, or gantry angle
measurement is defective.
The cooling fan is out of order. Note ALL messages and contact
interlock in control buttons.

Corrective Actions
Wait until the gantry temperature goes
down (the message will then disap-
pear).
If the light bulb needs to be changed,
please refer to SECTION 5 in this
chapter. If fault continues after chang-
ing the light bulb, note ALL messages
and contact GEMS field service
Remove magnification stand, then
reinstall the mag stand. If fault contin-
ues, Switch OFF and switch ON. If
fault still continues, note ALL mes-
sages and contact GEMS field service
Switch OFF and switch ON. If fault
continues, note ALL messages and
contact GEMS field service. AEC and
manual modes will still be working
with a default thickness. AOP mode is
not available.
Switch OFF and switch ON. If fault
continues, note ALL messages and
contact GEMS field service. Compres-
sion is still working, but without
manual adjustment capability.

brake will still be performing cor-
