Replacing The Cleaning Cartridge - Miele CVA 7840 Operating And Installation Instructions

Automatic cleaning and descaling
If a cleaning cartridge is not fitted, an
empty cartridge is fitted or an
expired cartridge is fitted, the milk
pipework and the brew unit need to
be cleaned/degreased manually. To
do this, the appropriate cleaning
agent is required (see "Cleaning and
care - Cleaning the milk pipework"
and "Degreasing the brew unit").
The cleaning cartridge can remain fitted
even if it is not used for a long time or
while being transported.
Replacing the cleaning
cartridge
You will need a new Miele cleaning
cartridge. Replacement cleaning
cartridges are available to order from
the Miele online shop or directly from
Miele (see back cover for contact
details).
 Open the appliance door and remove
the maintenance container.
 Pull the holder with the cartridge
forwards and remove both.

 Unscrew the cleaning cartridge from
the holder. Dispose of the used
cartridge with your household waste.
Sometimes cleaning agent residues
dry on the holder in the form of white
deposits. These cleaning agent
residues will not affect the automatic
cleaning programme. If necessary, you
can wipe the deposits off with a damp
cloth or clean the holder in the
dishwasher.
 Remove the new cartridge from its
packaging and unscrew the cap. The
cap is no longer required.
 Screw the cleaning cartridge into the
holder upside down.
 Push the holder with the cartridge
into the coffee machine until it clicks
into place.
 Insert the maintenance container and
close the appliance door.
