Selecting the hot-runner protocol is done via setting ProT = 2 .
With a hot-runner system, KS 50-1 TCont covers one channel.

Special case: first message after control system start-up: system can read up to 25
channels per device address. Therefore, the message contains up to 25 times the
set-point or output value, and the control command.
However, a KS 50-1 TCont only uses the values for channel 1 from the message,
and indicates in the reply that only one channel is provided.
