Note: The Atari PC adds the date and time to all files you create
or modify. Entering the correct date and time whenever you start
up your PC will help you identify the most up-to-date versions of
your files later. However, entering the date and time is optional
and you can skip over the prompts by pressing [Enter] twice. The
PC will then use a default date and time instead.
The A> at the bottom of the display is the MS-DOS system prompt.
The A means that drive A is currently in use (accessed). Next to
the prompt is a blinking bar called the cursor. The system prompt and
the cursor tell you that MS-DOS and the PC are ready to receive
instructions. The line containing the prompt is called the MS-DOS
command line.
Note: Chapters 2 and 3 tell you how to work with MS-DOS and
your Atari PC from this point.
