Optional components
There is no sound.
• Refer to General item "There is no sound."
(page 84) and check the condition of the system.
• Connect the component properly (page 80) while
checking:
– if the cords are connected properly.
– if the cord plugs are firmly inserted all the way.
• Turn on the connected component.
• Refer to the operating instructions supplied with
the connected component and start playing.
If the system still does not
operate properly after performing
the above measures or other
troubles does not described
above occur, reset the system as
follows:
Use the buttons on the unit for the operation.

Unplug the power cord.

Plug the power cord back in.

Press ?/1 to turn on the unit.

Press x, CD SYNC and ?/1 at the same
time.
"COLD RESET" appears in the display.
The system is reset to the factory settings except
for DVD settings. You should set the settings
you made, such as the preset stations, clock and
timer.
To return the DVD settings to the
default settings*, perform reset
as follows:

Press
DISPLAY when playback is
stopped.
The Control Menu appears in the on-screen
display.

(SETUP), then press ENTER.

"RESET", then press ENTER.

"YES", then press ENTER
It takes a few seconds to complete. Do not
press ?/1 when resetting the system.
* Except for Parental Control settings
Notes
• If you have connected an optional sub woofer, turn
off the sub woofer before you reset the system.
• When you turn the system on after resetting, the
guide message appears in the on-screen display. To
perform QUICK SETUP, press ENTER
(page 14). To quit QUICK SETUP, press
DISPLAY.
