Preventive maintenance should be carried out approximately once a year or after 2000
hours of printing, whichever comes first.
1.
Disconnect the mains cable.
2.
Remove the cover.

Remove the ribbon cassette
2.
Clean the printhead nose with a piece of dry lint-free cloth.
3.
Clean the carriage guide shafts with a piece of dry lint-free cloth.
4.
Clean the pressure (grasp) rolls and feed rolls using isopropanol or a similar alcohol.
5.
Clean the print bar(s) with isopropanol.
6.
Exchange the ribbon feed O-ring (5131 102 12270)
7.
Mount the ribbon cassette and cover.
8.
Connect the power cable.
9.
Run special function 1 to check the print status.
10. Run special function 2 and check the printer configuration.
The tension of all toothed belts, with the except of the carriage drive belt, is not critical and
can vary widely before the operation of the printer is affected.
When you carry out preventive maintenance, also check the toothed belts for excessive
slackening.
The only preventive maintenance required for the MSF is the regular removal of dust and
paper particles from the edges of the plastic protective panel in the R/W head slot.
