Chapter 1 System Overview
This chapter introduces the function and structure of IAD208E(M)
Integrated Access Device (hereinafter referred to as IAD208E(M)).
1.1 Introduction to Product
Huawei's IAD208E(M) is an access media gateway (AMG) based
on the technologies of voice over IP (VoIP) and fax over IP (FoIP). As
an important component of the next generation network (NGN), it not
only provides efficient and excellent voice services on the world-wide
IP network (the Internet or Intranet), but also provides small-capacity
VoIP/FoIP solutions for enterprises, users in communities and
companies.
The appearance of the IAD208E(M) is as shown in Figure 1-1.
